These was a current issue at Ghar Lapsi – Siggiewi. The students investigated and took action. The was waste in the sea and not enough waste separation. They even made a meeting with the local council to increase bins and raise awareness as regarding waste separation.

A group of 4 students investigated the school yard bins and depicted what they found with a graph. They also came up with solutions and discussed them with the Head of School – Ms.Caroline Anastasi. The students created a cartoon video clip which was shared with all the school on the 29th March during Class teacher time. In the video clip there was indicated all the bins in our school and how these should be used.

This is our school’s video (Our Lady Immaculate School Hamrun) to raise awareness on plastic pollution. This video forms part of our Litterless Campaign. The video is part of a large campaign that our students embarked to educate students and the wider community on the importance of reducing plastic use. The idea of this video is to show that now the problem is real and that we cannot just talk about the problem but we must act.

“Due to our limited land mass, more high-rise buildings will be constructed in the future.” – Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and the Property Market. The Real Estate in Malta is booming, and our views have changed into a surreal landscape. Everywhere you look you see apartments, planning authority sites, road construction, and the list goes on. What is happening to the limited amount of green areas we have in Malta? Is the construction more important than the greenery which gives off oxygen essential for us to live? Is it really that important? Meanwhile us students are trying to save what is left using one break at a time, planting one crop at a time….
