It is so shameful that our countryside is full of litter. It is shameful that around the bins, the ground is full of litter. Why do people throw litter on the floor when there are bins around? Are we doing something to help our environment? Everyone has to do his part for a cleaner and greener planet.

Garbage in Buskett

Last Friday I went to Buskett with my friends and we were disappointed to see garbage all over the place. Whoever is doing this behaviour must STOP. It is a shame when people litter in Buskett because it will not remain a beautiful and safe place for a hike or a picnic. We saw rubbish even close to garbage bins. This shows how careless people are because instead of throwing rubbish in the bins, they just throw it without even looking, so the trash ends up right beside these bins. People need to start pulling up their sleeves and to start cleaning the environment. Leaving trash will wither the trees in Buskett. If we lose Buskett, we will harm ourselves, because trees give us oxygen and without oxygen we will not be able to live. I encourage everyone to be responsible and take care of the environment around us.

Whilst walking around Buskett Gardens, it’s a pretty common sight to see litter everywhere, from under the trees to the streams. Unfortunately, a lot of people go for a walk or for a picnic and just throw away their waste wherever they happen to be. It’s a real shame! As the Sustainable Development Goal no 15 specifies, we are not taking care of and conserving our natural environment especially since Malta is very limited of it. We have to try and stop people from ruining our environment and protect the animals’ natural habitat. We have to start acting now!

Working for a Cleaner Nature

During our visit to Buskett, it was very sad to see all the litter scattered everywhere, in spite of there being lots of bins around. Nature provides us with clean air and taking care of our enviornment makes it a better place for us all to live in. Even the water in the stream will become polluted and cause the frogs to die. If we do not change this atitude the damage will be irreversible. This entry is linked to SDG 15 (Life on Land).

Buskett Gardens is a popular green area among the Maltese and tourists alike. Unfortumately one can find all sorts of litter which is causing harm to the environemnt and is a threat to various animal species. Attention needs to be given to SDG no 15- Life on Land in order to preserve our environment.
