This video shows students of SMC Senior Secondary School, Verdala, Cospicua, doing an investigation about the large usage of plastics that people consume daily. Students did a vox-pop at the Vittoriosa Street Market where among a couple of questions, participants were encouraged to give their feedback about the usage of plastic bags. An interview was also carried out with the three Mayors of Cospicua, Vittoriosa and Senglea. Although a lot of information was provided to the students, this short video only shows comments about plastic usage and other solutions provided by local councils to reduce plastic consumption. This video is mainly promoting the fact that when people are more cautious and depose litter appropriately they are actually and indirectly using their money wisely. The problem of litter is truly a Maltese plague and people must realise that they are literally throwing away their money collected through taxes. In order to help the all students residing in Malta become more aware of this unbearable situation, we as form 4 Media Studies students at St Monica School B’Kara came up with this idea that once people realise that it’s all boils down to money unfortunately then they might do something about it.

How should burnt oil be thrown away? Can we recycle it? These are the questions that our students asked and researched after noticing the amount of oil that is thrown away. The research involved internet research, vox pops, an online survey, interviews to WasteServ and an interview to the Mayor of the locality. Towards the end of the video the students created a short tutorial on how oil should be disposed of correctly.
