The word “abandon” does not seem to impact the public so much because people do not categories’ abandoned building with pollution. But what kind of pollution is it ? Researchers have found that abandoned buildings mostly are toxic in which particles drifts trough air affecting breathing. It contaminates the precious soil as well as our marine life. Malta has a lot of these houses which pollutes the little surface area Malta has to harvest. By paying attention to the image, abandoned houses give off to the public, people will at the same time pay attention to their environment and learn how take care of the little space we have.

Bins on diplay

This picture was taken in Brighella street, Birkirkara. Dog waste bins without bottoms are quite useless and harmful to the environment because there would be nowhere to dispose of dog waste and so it ends up on the ground. To solve this problem we should inform the local council because it is its duty to provide bins for the benefit of dog owners and the health of citizens.

Trashless nature

It is against the law to throw rubbish in fields, but some people do not listen.You can never enjoy nature without seeing some trash laying around.I think the government should handle this solution by appointing people [for example wardens] to check these places out and give the people who threw trash a fine.They also could put some recycling bins next to the field.I would really like to see the government do a big effort about this situation and maybe we can finally enjoy nature without any trash.

  The title itself explains itself on the importance to be responsible and sustainable on the food that we consume as it is indeed precious! The school’s EkoSkola Committee are taking part in the WasteServ School-Community Link Project – Promoting a Zero Waste Society in which through this and two other video in collaboration with the Video Production House Striped Sox, we are promoting the reduction of food waste and how to avoid it. This by creating awareness and also, giving tips and solutions on this. The EkoSkola team are also working on the We Eat Responsibly Project with this same theme of food waste which is being tackled via the production of a recipe booklet Sustainable Cooking including tips and ideas to preserve food and avoid wasting it as well as recipes of leftover food.
