On Monday, 21st November 2022, a group of Form 4 (year 10) Science Core Curriculum Programme (CCP) students at St. Margaret College Secondary School Verdala, Cospicua engaged in an eco-project highlighting the use of Water Pump Mills in Malta and their urgent repair especially in some localities in Malta where they are exposed to strong winds. This science project was related to their Science study unit about the Energy Sources.

The article introduces the plight of a wind pollinated seed as it struggles to find good soil in which to plant itself and germinate. Information about weather changes on our island are presented including the claim that Malta’s natural habitat is undergoing the process of desertification.
