Litter…A Bitter Taste

Tourists visiting Malta would certainly leave our islands with a bitter taste after seeing this litter being dumped by irresponsible people into the sea. Such litter takes years to decompose and marine creatures such as turtles could easily mistake plastic bags for jelly fish. Moreover this plastic debris is also a trap to these creatures. More enforcement is needed and higher fines should certainly be imposed.

in this scenery we can see wild shrubbery infiltrated by a broken metal wire gate and plastic bags which take hundreds of years to decompose and are harmful to the environment.
