October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign commemorated worldwide to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness, education and research. The Pink Colour Ribbon campaign aims to raise awareness about breast and gynaecological cancers, as well as raise funds for cancer research and programmes of prevention.

As part of the Christmas religious festivities held at school, three students from St. Margaret College Senior Secondary School, Verdala, Cospicua, were invited by teacher Martin Azzopardi to reflect upon the peaceful and uniting spirit of Christmas. This is in relevance with Goal 10 (reduced inequality) and Goal 16 (Peace and Justice) of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

World Mental Health Awareness Day is celebrated every year on the 10th October and St. Margaret College Verdala School Queen’s Young Leaders Group assembled with their group founder teacher, Martin Azzopardi to raise awareness about mental health during the school morning assembly.

Every year a group of students from St. Margaret College Senior Secondary School joins Missio Malta to raise a charity fund campaign in aid of poor countries. This year Missio Malta is holding a charity fund campaign in aid of Uganda and Vietnam plus other poor countries.
