Cigarettes butts (discarded filters) are the most common litter worldwide. These are mostly littered on the ground. The problem is that it takes 10 to 15 years for the filter fibres to break down by the ultraviolet rays from the sun and during this time their toxic materials like chemicals and heavy metals are released. They are difficult to clean up and also such process is costly. Cigarettes butts are poisonous to living organisms when ingested like fish and children. Another problem is that if the cigarette is still lit and tossed in a bush, the bush will probably catch fire. There are many precautions that can prevent these problems like portable ashtrays or ashtray stands near a bus stop or public places. Harsher fines can be given to people who litter cigarette waste outside

The orange tree is boasting about her beauty in the garden, showing her beauty. Every year lots of trees get destroyed for human use, or by catching fire because of wrong doing. Every year a lot of trees are cut down to provide raw materials to produce paper and other things. Trees should be more conserved and protected.

Cigarette filter found in a garden. This cigarette was thrown away in the garden. Cigarette filters should be thrown in a proper bin after smoking. Certainly not the right place where cigarettes are disposed. Tons of cigarette butts and cigarette related litter is dropped every day also from car drivers while driving that throw cigarette litter on the road. A lot of other animals in the wild are killed or injured by cigarette butts.

A wrapper hidden in the grass in the garden. The photo shows a yogurt cup and a wrapper hidden in the middle of the green wild plants. Another example of rubbish disposed badly. Rubbish thrown badly in the fields can cause a lot of hazard to the wild flora and fauna.
