Xrobb l-Għaġin Nature Park and Sustainable Development Centre which is located within the Delimara peninsula near the locality of Marsaxlokk is one of the afforestation projects in Malta and includes the planting of around 15,000 indigenous trees and shrubs. The Sustainable Development Centre was restored keeping in mind energy and water conservation features. The project also encouraged the use of renewable energy and included the installation of two 5Kw micro wind turbines, 15Kw photovoltaic panels and solar water heaters to provide the required energy for the project. It is a shame that to date no particular use was made of such a project even though the advantages linked to it are numerous.
