In this video, Emma, the Ekoskola president of Sacred Heart College talks about the litter problems in Malta and other countries too. This video shows us the importance of helping our country and planet Earth to become cleaner even with small gestures, such as picking up litter and putting it in the correct bin. It aims to raise awareness among people about how much litter is around us. We filmed it next to our art rooms and garden. Behind Emma is a project made by our art students, they painted these recycled materials to make comfortable seating for our students and teachers. At the end of the video, we understand that the bottle is a metaphor to represent Earth. The bottle is like our earth it looks strong and hard, but if treated badly it can be fragile. Link:

Our poem is comprised of 10 quatrain stanzas, each with verses of irregular length. In each stanza, the tree is personified and is also a synecdoche; as it represents the entirety of our environment, and the stanzas respectively tackle a different benefit given to us by trees, such as shade, fruit, and the encompassing of birds and other wildlife. In addition, all stanzas make sure to ask Why?, and Did you forget? this is in order to evoke a feeling of guilt, and sympathy, although the opening stanza essentially summarizes all of the trees’ points and messages, in order to avoid beating around the Bush and getting the point. In the final 2 stanzas; the tone of the poem takes a pivotal shift, as this time the tree is offering a humble solution to the problems faced, which is to make peace with nature rather than destroy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEhRI0YD3us

Nathan had been eagerly looking forward to his trip to Ramla Bay, located in the northern part of the beautiful island of Gozo, for weeks. He had heard so much about the pristine beach and its clear turquoise waters. However, when he arrived in March, he was disappointed to find that there were not a lot of people there, but there was still a lot of litter. Nathan couldn’t believe the amount of garbage scattered around the beach. The sand was covered in plastic bags, empty bottles, and cigarette butts. He felt like the beach was crying out for help, as if it were a living entity that was being choked by the pollution. So, Nathan decided to use his voice and pretend to be the beach. At the end he shouted, “I am your beach not your ash tray!”
