Marine pollution including oil spills and waste dumped illegally into the sea is certainly a death sentence to marine creatures. More enforcement is needed possibly increasing fines to stop irresponsible people from doing these acts. Moreover, through educational campaigns, we will be safeguarding our seas for future generations.

This image makes us reflect how we are really caring for the marine environment. Oil and fuel spills are certainly a threat to marine biodiversity. Boat owners should be more responsible by doing regular maintenance work on their vessels and dispose of used oil safely.

Litter…A Bitter Taste

Tourists visiting Malta would certainly leave our islands with a bitter taste after seeing this litter being dumped by irresponsible people into the sea. Such litter takes years to decompose and marine creatures such as turtles could easily mistake plastic bags for jelly fish. Moreover this plastic debris is also a trap to these creatures. More enforcement is needed and higher fines should certainly be imposed.

Amongst many things on the facade of this building one can see a huge piece of graffiti art on all of one side of the building. Despite being artistic this is not the appropriate location to do street art
