In-natura madwar l-iskola mhux dejjem qiegħdin nieħdu ħsiebha bl-aħjar mod. F’dan ir-ritratt naraw fjura li waqgħet mal-art. Bebbuxu li kien għaddej tela’ fuq din il-fjura u ħa nagħsa hemmhekk. Importanti li meta ngħaddu minn passaġġi fin-natura ma ngħaffġux pjanti,fjuri u annimali. Ritratt sempliċi ta’ xena li min jaf kemm il-darba tiġi quddiem għajnejna u li aħna ma napprezzawhiex għax mitlufin mal-ġirja tal-ħajja ta’ kuljum. Naraw ukoll li hemm bżonn noqogħdu attenti biex ma nitilfux aktar ħamrija. Fejn ħadna dan ir-ritratt hu maħkum ta’ spiss minn riħ qawwi u xita kif ukoll ħafna nies jgħaddu minn hemm biex iqassru. F’dan ir-ritratt naraw il-Ġummar, tip ta’ palma Maltija li tikber f’Malta. Din il-palma hija importanti mmens għax hija karatteristika tal-ambjent tipiku Malti. Iż-żerriegħa tal-ġummar lesta biex meta taqa’ niġbruhom u nkunu nistgħu niżirawhom. Il-Ġummar m’għandiex tiġi meqruda għaliex hija parti mill-identita’ tagħna, madwarha jgħixu insetti li huma parti mill- eko-sistema Maltija kif ukoll isebbħu l-ambjent. Fl-iskola tagħna għandna diversi postijiet imsebbħin minn din il-palma. Dnub li ħafna mill-istudenti ma jafux biha. Hemm bżonn li napprezzaw iktar l-ambjent Malti u mhux moħħna biss biex inkissru u neqirdu l-ambjent minħabba bini ġdid. Huwa importanti wkoll li insiru iktar konxji tal-ġmiel naturali li joffri dan il-pajjiż u mhux nistagħġbu biss bl-ambjent tal-pajjiżi barranin.

Everybody needs water, so it is important not to waste it. Water must not be left to waste, so we need to used it to its best. we can leave bowls of water to feed the birds, stray cats and other animals. Also one needs to trap water in wells and reservoirs so as it can be later used for irrigation and flushing. Schools need to be equipped with these reservoirs so as to save as much water as possible.

It’s Just Something to Think About

This photo was taken at an old abandoned house in my locality. I think that it’s easy as ABC, if everyone does his or her own part in contributing in keeping litter to a minimum, but it takes vigilance. For starters, never let trash escape from your car, and make sure household garbage bins are sealed tightly so animals can’t get at the contents. Always remember to take your garbage with you upon leaving a park or other public space. If you smoke, it isn’t saving the environment, a compelling enough reason to finally quit. In addition if that stretch of roadway you drive every day to work is a haven for litter, offer to clean it up and keep it clean. Don’t forget that litter is bad for the environment, bad for the economy and can even kill you!
