This article analyses and studies a different form of pollution which is many times not given the importance it deserves. Noise pollution is a type of pollution that not only can cause distress to us humans but also can disrupt the natural cycles and patterns of other living things such as birds, turtles, bat and so on. This study aims to raise awareness of this type of pollution and how present it is in our everyday life.

Our budding environmental reporters went to a local shopping mall to ask shoppers whether they are aware that clothes made from recycled fibres are all the trend. And what did they discover? Shoppers are aware that there are many clothes brands that are making clothes from recycled fibres and materials. But most of them don’t know that you can actually buy them from local shops! Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) at Xrobb l-Għaġin (XGĦ) Nature Park and GLOBE Malta launched the GLOBE COOLING DOWN Students’ Investigation to collect and share ground surface temperature (ST) data from around the Maltese Islands and hence explore the Urban Heat Islands Effect (UHIE) across the islands. Gozo College Middle School Victoria, St Thomas More College Żejtun Primary School B and ESD at XGĦ collaborated to explore whether location and other factors affect the STs of similar surfaces in three different locations.

Junior college Malta’s biggest sixth form this year decided to put plastic covering everywhere including in green areas with the plastic ended up degrading with rain in the grass and also introduce paper wristbands which were given to every student upon entry of campus. I decided to contact the school administration, University of Malta Rector office and the minister for the Environment, Climate change and planning Dr Aaron Farrugia.
