Over construction in Malta is harming the environment in many ways. When too many buildings are built, natural spaces like fields, trees and rocky areas disappear. This means birds, insects and other animals lose their homes. The construction world also creates a lot of dust and noise, which makes the air dirty and can bother people or animals. More buildings mean more cars on the road, causing traffic and air pollution. When there are fewer trees and gardens there is less shade, so towns become hotter, especially in summer. Without enough green spaces, rainwater cannot soak into the ground properly. This can lead to flooding. It’s important to protect nature so Malta stays clean, green and beautiful for everyone.
n this picture you can see that we are on the shore close to the sea. There is waste on some of the rocks but this one in my opinion stands out. Written on the bottle cap is the word ‘Extra’. These caps feel in fact very extra because it is not the place where they belong. Apart from making the place feel shabby and dirty, they also pose a health and safety hazard for people that might step on them while walking barefoot to go for a swim. Getting hurt with something rusty is not only painful but also extremely dangerous.

This picture shows broken glass and rubbish thrown on a path in nature. This is dangerous because someone could step on the glass and get hurt. Animals could also easily injure themselves. Littering like this makes the environment look dirty and neglected. It can also harm plants and wildlife. We should always throw rubbish in the right bins or recycle it properly. If we see litter, we can tell an adult or help clean it up safely with gloves. Everyone, including kids, can help protect nature by keeping our parks and paths clean and safe.
