The podcast is about Water Scarcity and Food Security. Eko skola committee researched the topic and a member from the Manikata Agricultural Cooperative was invited to give a talk to the committee about the topic. The students asked questions during the talk on the research that was previously done. This was followed by a podcast recorded in a studio where two members of the Eko skola committee discussed the topic with Dr. Mario Cardona. Latex balloons are often mistaken for food (like jellyfish) by sea turtles, causing intestinal blockages, while ribbons and strings cause entanglement. Less sea turtles = more jellyfish.

If we cut down many trees, many animals will lose their home. We can help by taking care of trees, do not waste things like paper and plant new trees.

This photo shows a plant growing in an aqua ponics system. It shows a way of growing food using recycled water and natural nutrients. Sometimes to grow crops lots of water is wasted or used. Using systems like this helps to use less water because it is sustainable.

This photo shows a snail resting on a leaf. It shows how small animals depend on plants for shelter and food. Habitat loss from pollution and development harm these animals. We can help by keeping more natural areas in public spaces and our gardens and do not use pesticides.
